Journey Along the Nile

Arrive Cairo at any time you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel. The day is free for you to spend at your leisure. A Welcome meeting will take place on Day 1 in the evening. An information letter will be posted at the reception desk on Day 1.

following breakfast, the day starts with a half-day guided tour to the Great Three Pyramids in Giza, belonged to the Kings of the 4th Dynasty of the Old Kingdom Cheops, Chephren & Mykerionos and the Sphinx, the huge guard of the Funeral Complex with king Chephren face & Lion body. You can even ride camels at the Pyramids.

In the afternoon, visit to the Egyptian Museum of Antiquities. On display is a rare collection of 5000 years of art — the largest most precious collection of Egyptian art in the world, including an exhibit dedicated to the Tut-Ankh-Amon collection of treasures, gold, and jewelry, as it was when his tomb was excavated. At the end of the day return to your hotel and overnight in Cairo.

This day starts early with a drive in a private A/C bus to Alexandria via the Coptic monasteries complex at Wadi Natrum. Once there, spend a full day visiting all the incredible sites – Pompey’s Pillar, the Catacombs, the Roman Amphitheatre, the Citadel of Qait Bay, the Montazah Palace, and the modern Bibliotheca Alexandria. After a seafood lunch, check into our hotel and overnight in Alexandria.

After breakfast we check out of the hotel. In the afternoon we board the evening sleeper train traveling south for an early morning arrival into Aswan.

Egypt’s southernmost city of Aswan is ours to explore. Get lost in the lively market, venture out by camel to St Simeon’s Monastery or maybe cross the river to the old Elephantine Island.

Today, we’ll go to the ancient temple of Abu Simbel, which was built in the 13th century BC by Ramses II. This magnificent temple was salvaged and rebuilt in the 1960s to avoid submersion in Lake Nasser. In the afternoon, we’ll take a Felucca to Elephantine Island and dine in a Nubian village. The travel time is estimated to be 3 hours.

After an early breakfast we check out of the hotel. The morning is free except for check-in to the Nile cruise ship – your home for the next two days. Overnight onboard the cruise ship in Aswan.

Following breakfast on day 8, the day starts with a visit to the High Dam and the Temple of Philae before sailing to Kom Ombo. Upon arrival in Kom Ombo you will take an off-shore excursion to see the temple dedicated to Sobek the Crocodile god and Haroeris the winged god. Continue sailing to Edfu. Overnight onboar

Following breakfast, we begin with another excursion in Edfu to visit the Temple of Horus. Then continue sailing to Esna and cross the locks. Continue sailing to Luxor, overnight onboard in Luxor.

Check into our hotel, and the day starts with a visit to the exciting ancient sites on the West Bank including the two mammoth statues of Amenophis II at the Colossi of Memnon; Queen Hatshepsut Temple, the Tomb of Tut Ankh Amun and the “City of Dead” – Valley of Kings. The remainder of the day is free for leisure and independent activities. Overnight in Luxor.

Following breakfast we check out of the hotel. We transfer to airport and board the flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, enjoy some leisure time and return to the hotel or enjoy an independent visit to the Khan El Khalili Bazaars. Shops in this district are legendary for fine brassware, copper, perfumes, leather, silver, gold, antiques and more!

An optional farewell dinner and show on one of Cairo’s famous floating restaurants is available and highly recommended as a great way to cap off your visit. You will have the chance to freshen up in the afternoon before heading to the show.
